Optical character recognition is progressing fast and has become something usefull, and now they are ready for the smartphone. ABBYY throws another trick in
with almost instant translation: once you take a photo of a section of text, it converts it into computer-readable text, then sends it to Google for an instant translation. It will still be a Google translation but probably Google will send something understandable back.
